A
PDI (Ponta do Ismael Water Production and Distribution Complex) is responsible for treating and distributing over 700 million liters of water daily for all of Manaus. Maintenance work is scheduled for Tuesday, causing some neighborhoods in Manaus to lose water service. The service began around 5am and is expected to end at 5pm on the same day. During this period, the concessionaire will perform the interconnection of an adutora at two points on Avenida Presidente Dutra in the Santo Antônio neighborhood. Avenida Joaquim Nabuco in the Centro, Rua Emílio Moreira in Praça 14 de Janeiro, and Rua K in the Alvorada neighborhood will also undergo interventions. To ensure safety during the maintenance work, water treatment at Ponta do Ismael will need to be temporarily interrupted. Neighborhoods in the North, South, Center-South, West, Center-West, and part of the East zone may experience fluctuations in water supply. The maintenance aims to perform a series of interventions throughout the system, from the electrical sector of the sub-station unit to interconnections of large-scale networks and record changes. After the completion of the work, water will gradually return, first to central areas and then to higher areas, according to the geography of the city. It is estimated that the water service will be normalized in all city regions within 48 hours.
